Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 1 cup pumpkin purée
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Crust

  • 1 pack refrigerated pie crust

Glaze

  • 1 egg beaten
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • Roll out the refrigerated pie crust to a thickness of about ⅛ inch and cut into 8 cm circles.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of pumpkin purée, ½ cup of chopped pecans, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice.
  • Spoon filling into the center of each dough circle.
  • Fold each dough circle over the filling to seal.
  • Brush the tops of each hand pie with the beaten egg.
  • Place hand pies on a baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes.
  • Mix together ½ cup of powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup for the glaze.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled hand pies before serving.

Notes

Avoid overfilling the pies to prevent spills. Watch the baking time carefully as oven settings may vary.
