Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 8-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine white cake mix, instant vanilla pudding mix, egg whites, milk, sour cream, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, and mix for 2 minutes.
  • Divide the batter into two bowls, adding green food coloring to one and purple to the other, stirring until colors are vibrant.
  • Pour the green batter into one cake pan and the purple into the other, and bake for 28-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Once cool, cut cakes into small cubes.
  • Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. In another bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then fold in whipped cream.
  • Layer your trifles starting with green cake cubes, followed by crushed Oreos, cream filling, and purple cake cubes, repeating layers.
  • Chill for at least 2 hours before serving to let the flavors meld.

Notes

Chill heavy cream and mixing bowl to achieve perfect whipped cream consistency. Allow cakes to cool completely before cubing to avoid soggy layers.
