Equipment

  • microwave-safe bowl
  • Rubber spatula
  • 8x8-inch baking pan

Ingredients

For the Fudge Base

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk makes fudge creamy and smooth
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips opt for high-quality for richer flavor
  • ¼ cup Baileys Irish Cream liqueur adds a delicious boozy twist
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract enhances flavor profile
  • 1 pinch salt balances flavors beautifully

For Toppings

  • ½ cup chopped nuts adds a delightful crunch
  • ¼ cup sprinkles perfect for a festive touch
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt elevates every bite

Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • In a medium-sized, microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Microwave the mixture on high for 30 seconds, then stir thoroughly. Repeat until the chocolate is almost completely melted and smooth; total time should not exceed 2 minutes to avoid burning the chocolate.
  • Stir the fudge mixture until it becomes smooth and glossy. If any lumps remain, microwave for an additional 10-15 seconds.
  • Pour in the Baileys Irish Cream liqueur into the chocolate mixture, stirring to incorporate fully.
  • Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to the mixture, stirring until evenly distributed.
  • Line an 8x8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper with edges overhanging for easy removal.
  • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, using a rubber spatula to spread it evenly across the bottom.
  • Sprinkle on your desired toppings and gently press them into the fudge.
  • Cover the fudge with plastic wrap and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours.
  • Once chilled, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into 1-inch squares.
  • Serve and store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

For best results, chill the fudge overnight and use a sharp knife for clean cuts.
