Ingredients
  

For Frying

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Essential for forming the dough.
  • 1 whole Egg Binds the mixture and gives structure.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Adds depth and a comforting aroma.

Instructions
 

Churro Bites Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 360°F.
  • Prepare the cinnamon sugar by mixing ½ cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine butter, water, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a rapid boil.
  • Add 1 cup flour to the boiled mixture and stir over low heat for 1 to 2 minutes until a soft dough forms.
  • Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the warm dough, and mix until smooth.
  • Fit a disposable piping bag with a large open star tip, then fill with churro dough.
  • Pipe 1 to 1½ inch pieces of dough into the hot oil, using kitchen shears to cut off the dough.
  • Fry 6 to 8 pieces of dough for 90 seconds to 2 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Transfer the fried churro bites to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Toss warm churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
  • Serve warm with dipping sauces like caramel or chocolate.

Notes

Churro bites can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, refrigerated for up to 5 days, or frozen for up to 2 months.
