Ingredients
  

Pudding

  • 2 cups eggnog rich, creamy liquid
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix 3.4 oz box

Cake Layers

  • 1 pound pound cake or angel food cake cut into bite-sized cubes

Topping

  • 2 cups whipped cream for a fluffy layer
  • ground nutmeg for dusting on top

Preparation

  • Whisk together eggnog and instant vanilla pudding mix in a mixing bowl until smooth. Chill for 5-10 minutes to thicken.
  • Cut the pound cake or angel food cake into uniform bite-sized cubes.
  • Layer half of the cake cubes in a trifle dish and press down gently.
  • Spoon a layer of the chilled pudding over the cake cubes, smoothing it out.
  • Spread a generous layer of whipped cream over the pudding layer.
  • Repeat the layering process with the remaining cake cubes, pudding, and whipped cream.
  • Dust the top with ground nutmeg.
  • Cover and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For the best results, chill your pudding thoroughly, cut cake into uniform pieces, and use fresh whipped cream.
