Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg. Mix until cohesive and press into the bottom of the pan.
  • In a larger bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add pumpkin puree, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
  • Stir in the spices and powdered sugar until incorporated.
  • Pour the pumpkin filling over the cake base in the baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
  • Allow to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar and slicing.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for the best filling consistency. Mix gently to avoid a dense cake. Store covered at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerated for 5 days.
