Instructions

Step‑by‑Step Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it with butter.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar, whisking them together until smooth and well blended. Add in the eggs, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and optional ground cinnamon. Mix well.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients using a spatula until just combined.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly to the edges.
  • Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 22-25 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan for about 15-20 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  • Once the bars are completely cool, spread the maple glaze generously over the top and allow it to set before slicing into squares.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature eggs and avoid overmixing the batter.
