For the Syrup

  • 2 cups Fresh strawberries sliced, ripe for best flavor
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup Water for syrup

For the Tea

  • 4 to 6 bags Black tea adjust based on desired strength
  • 4 cups Water boiled for brewing
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice optional for a zesty kick

For Serving

  • Ice Ice add to glasses to avoid dilution
  • Fresh strawberry slices Fresh strawberry slices for garnish

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine 2 cups of sliced fresh strawberries, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of water. Stir gently and allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or jar, pressing the pulp to extract as much syrup as possible. Let cool to room temperature.
  • In a separate pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil, then remove from heat and add 4 to 6 black tea bags, steeping for about 5 minutes before removing the bags.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the cooled black tea with the strawberry syrup, adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice if desired. Stir well and refrigerate until chilled.
  • Serve chilled over ice, garnished with fresh strawberry slices or lemon wheels.

Notes

Use only ripe strawberries for optimal flavor. Adjust the sugar to taste based on sweetness preference.
